Apple Basket in Macon

I love their loaded baked potatoes. I highly recommend the philly cheesesteak one. Also, the prices are hard to beat. Great dining experience for the whole family. All of the employees are very attentive and provide excellent service.

One of the best burgers I have had to date. I was a little disappointed that our original server Lily, didnt get to keep serving us. I hope they work that out. It sould not have been settled in front of the customers.

Passing through while on a road trip, we stopped in Macon. The homemade food was a welcome treat. My husband and I each had a wrap and onion rings. The onion rings were fantastic. The wraps were just as good, loved the "wrap" itself. Brenda R was our server and Hazel the hostess took excellent care of us. As a person who travels professionally for a living I would highly recommend Apple 🍏 Cafe for the food. I wish I had saved room for dessert 🍰.

We came here with a group of 20 and had a great experience. Shout out to our server, Cheryl for first-rate service! She was always moving, polite, and attentive. As soon as any dish was up, she brought it out with a quickness. Our appetizers came out fast and most of our group had their lunch in about 20 minutes. Loved the hot beef plate, Irish fries, and cheeseburgers. The burgers are freshly-made hand patties and portions were generous. I definitely plan on coming back soon!

Love going to this place when we are on town. Food is always great and employees always take care of your needs.

Unbelievably yummy comfort food! We had 1/2 portions of the Hot Beef and the tenderloin! Let’s just say thank the lord we didn’t get a full! Portions are more than generous!!! And the desserts are heavenly!!! Brenda and Beverly couldn’t be more sweet and gracious!

We stopped here today for lunch and it is a delightful little place! Very friendly down home people and delicious food! We highly recommend taking the time to stop by and experience it yourself!

Hubby and I split a Chipotle burger with fries and ham & bean soup. Split a Blackberry dumpling for dessert. Oh my! Very yummy! Old fashion cafe! Loved it!

We eat here often. Breaded tenderloin is always good. If you are in a hurry the hot beef plate is really good and is a large portion. The service is generally great. The pies and apple dumplings are just like grandma used to make. Very reasonable prices. They have been around the area most of my life. That kind of longevity in a restaurant is not by accident.

The local place for family friends. You can host a dinner for multiple people without breaking the wallet.Also ask for the different pies they're good and you can purchase a whole pie... If it's not been sold out. 😉

I have gone to the Apple Basket twice now and have loved it each time! My drink only got bellow half once both times I have been. The fries and chicken are also fantastic. You can tell that it is all cooked in house. Or, if not, definetly cooked to order. I will continue to go back as long as I am in Macon!

Good American food. Dining in was an ok experience, service was a little slow. What is truly the attraction here is the homemade pies and desserts. One of, if not THE best coconut creme pie I have had in a while. The amount of meringue was over the top.. But perfect.

Very nice people. The food was great. Dessert is a must here. Pies and dumplings were awesome. If we are ever in Macon Mo again we will definitely be back.

Amazing! Great service. Chili was amazing as well as the chicken strips. Coconut cream pie was the perfect way to end the meal. Will be back!

I had the open faced roast beef sandwich over mashed potatoes and brown gravy overall with a side of awesome great beans (cooked like Granny!). I finished with a piece of HOMEADE chocolate pie! This place is a great place to eat if you miss good old fashioned home cooking!

As we walked in we were greeted by the hostess immediately and seated. The waitress took a bit to finally come take our order. My wife and I both ordered the special which was chicken. We had the option of fried or baked, white, dark, or a mixture of both. We both chose a mixture of both. Food came pretty fast. My wife got everything she ordered. I however got all dark. Not a big deal but I specifically asked for a mixture of both. 2 thighs and a wing is all dark not a mixture of both. The chicken tasted good but the breading tasted like shake and bake. The texture felt like shake and bake not fried as well. The corn was unseasoned and bland. Definitely came from a can and simply warmed up. The baked apples were fantastic though. Waitress only checked on us twice the entire time we were there and one of those times was just to give us the ticket. I wish I could have tipped the cook and not the waitress. She needs taught on how to be a better waitress.

New in town because I have an internship this summer and I saw great reviews for this and I can see why! The staff was super friendly and helpful. And I cant believe how good the food has been.

Very good place to eat. Not big on desert,but had to try apple dumpling. It was definitely a must have again.

I ordered the 6 piece shrimp the baked potato was still a bit hard in the middle and the butter wouldn't melt potato should have been cooked more

Great experience!! The hostess was so helpful and considerate of our two young kids. Last time we came the service was terrible and the food was burnt, but it is definitely back to the same place we loved before. Anything with mashed potatoes and gravy is amazing, but the cube steak (see pic) is the best! And be sure to try the chocolate pie.

Biscuits and gravy was superb and try some of there chipotle sauce on your 🍔 you won't regret it. I love the country theme they have. The waitresses were nice and it was warm and cozy walking in!

This is as down home as it gets. Great home style food and friendly staff and service. Popular with locals and the occasional travelers. If you're passing by on US 36 near a meal time, it's well worth the short detour through town.

This place could teach some of our young workforce about how to wait tables. These ladies were old school table service & being of the same generation we appreciated their hard work & dedication. Food was GREAT! I had Hot Roast beef sandwich plate. It had Real Mashed potatoes people! & meat was stacked high & so tender I didn't need to cut it fell apart. Definitely going back & would also recommend to my family. Actually, I have already recommended this cafe to my family.
